The sixth edition of the Etta Chiuri Prize was awarded to Lucia Corno and Alessandra Voena for their paper "Selling daughters: age of marriage, income shocks and the bride price tradition". 

 

The prize is awarded by the Società Italiana di Economia Pubblica (SIEP) in memory of Maria Concetta Chiuri, a former Professor of Economics at the University of Bari, who passed away prematurely on September 15, 2009. The award is given for an outstanding unpublished paper, written by an author under the age of forty, pertaining to household and gender economics , labor economics, economics of taxation, redistribution and social policies, and/or economics of migration.
